Abel Super Series Reels have been around a very long time. They have been proven time and time again. These reels are timeless!
Perfectly sized and weighted for those who enjoy smaller rods or merely the feel of an ultra-light outfit, the Super 3N is just the reel you need when fishing the pocket waters of the Smokies, or the high-mountain streams of the Rockies.
Sized to match exactly with modern 4-weight rods, the Super 4N was designed to be the ultimate lightweight reel. For the dry-fly enthusiast, the super-smooth cork drag protects the finest of tippets, while also giving the nympher all the strength needed to fight the toughest of river fish.
Just as the 5-weight rod has become the all-purpose freshwater choice for many fly fishers, great for everything from Trout to Carp and Bass, the Super 5N from Abel has been built to handle any virtually any situation thrown its way. The large arbor gives you great line pickup while keeping coiling to a minimum, and the narrow width and low weight of the reel lends itself to excellent feel on 5-weight rods.
Salmon and Steelhead are demanding fish, requiring a reel that allows for both a lightning-quick retrieve rate as well as a strong, smooth drag. The Super 6N gives both while matching up perfectly with both 6-weight and 7-weight rod, making it an excellent selection for the times when that balance between power and speed becomes necessary.
Stalking the flats for Bonefish and Redfish is the favorite pastime of may fly fishers, and these strong species were what Abel had in mind when the Super 7-8N was designed. A narrow-width spool all but eliminates the need to guide the line onto the reel, while its large arbor allows for an incredible retrieve rate – perfect for recovering line after a blistering run! The Super 7-8N will easily hold a saltwater 7- or 8-weight line with plenty of backing to spare, and gives you the stopping power necessary to slow down the hottest of gamefish.
Just as rods have become stronger and lighter, the Super 9/10N has become the reel of choice for anglers looking for a light weight 9 & 10 weight setup. Designed for some of their larger quarry such as Permit, big bull Redfish, and King Salmon. What these fly fishers have realized is that the Super 9/10N has both the backing capacity necessary to keep these big boys on the hook, and the stop-a-sub® drag strength to bring them to hand.
Silver King. Sabalo. ‘Poon. The mighty Tarpon has earned more than a few nicknames, along with a well-deserved reputation as one of the toughest fish on the planet. The 12-weight rod has developed as the weapon of choice for battling Tarpon, and the Super 11/12N is the perfect match for both the rod and the fish. Superior backing capacity combined with an extra-large arbor make the Super 11/12N ready for the blistering runs a tarpon takes, and equally ready to pick that line back up again as you chase your trophy down!
